Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance
The GTI Performance Is for drivers seeking excitable, high-strung speed without wanting to go all out on the Golf R. Rivals such as the Hyundai I30 N offer more power but they’re still not a Golf, well built, refined and normal looking. No crazy design or massive spoilers here. This model is a nice middle ground between the respectable hatchback and the all out power of a refined hot hatch. That’s not to say that this GTI isn’t hot though, with a 0- 62mph time just a whisker over 6 seconds you’ll still find it pretty nippy. The 242 bhp engine is available with the choice of either a six speed manual gear box or 7 speed DSG Auto.
Available as both a 3 and 5 door, the GTI performance is spacious throughout and even has a 380 litre boot. The GTI comes with an all-new 8 inch infotainment screen with the option of upgrading to the discover pro system. Along with this is DAB radio and Bluetooth as well as adaptive cruise control.
From the outside the GTI can be recognised from its distinctive red stripe which run across the vehicles grille from headlight to headlight. 19 inch wheels and front air intakes give the exterior a sporty feel, without feeling like its trying too hard to look like a sporty hot hatch. You could still use the GTI as a family car without looking ridiculous. Drivers looking for a real performer should look to the GTI, a refined all-rounder with a sprinkling of Golf R thrown into the mix.
